UPDATE on Congress numbers:

Last week, a Gallup poll reported that Congress’s approval rating had hit 10%, matching a 38-year-low in that poll last reached in February 2011.

Note in the charts I posted at the end of this post, JUST last month they were at 16%. The following story should drop them to 0% due to trust issues!

This was brought to my attention by a dear friend and Patriot, Robert H Patrick. He noted it was posted by a few bloggers and wanted to share it with all of you…

It stemmed from a Politico post from JUST a few days ago, 8/18/12. Just par for the course with Obama as evidenced by his infernal, consistent ‘Power Grabs’.

In the middle of election season, Democrats and Republicans in Congress have come together to give President Barack Obama more power to appoint officials to jobs in his administration without seeking approval from the Senate.

Yes, you read that right.

And the most infuriating part is that he did this with the approval of Congress:

In the middle of election season, Democrats and Republicans in Congress have come together to give President Barack Obama more power to appoint officials to jobs in his administration without seeking approval from the Senate.

Lost in the hubbub last weekend over Rep. Paul Ryan’s selection as Mitt Romney’s running mate was the fact that Obama signed a bill that eliminates the need to obtain Senate confirmation for about 170 executive branch posts: the Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011, a bill that is under the guise of ‘ reducing the number of executive positions subject to Senate confirmation’ . It was Sponsored by liberal Sen. Charles Schumer [D-NY] and Signed by the President on 08/09/12. The Senate passed it on 6/28/11 and the house JUST passed it on 07/31/12.

BTW, PF is fixated on the fact every time you see Obama with a pen in his hand, does he in FACT ever sign ‘anything’?

Of course, given the timing of the upcoming election, the power the legislative ceded to the executive in the new bill will flow mainly to whoever wins the November vote and his successors. The changes in the bill take effect between zero and 60 days from the time Obama signed it on August 10. (8/9/2012) The Senate approved the bill, 79-20, in June 2011. The House approved it, 261-116, last month.

NOTE: The measures are co-sponsored by Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

Of interest to journalists, government public affairs types (and those who hope to be the latter), the top public affairs positions at Defense, State, Labor, Treasury, HUD and Veterans Affairs are on the list of jobs no longer requiring Senate confirmation. Many other public affairs posts had never required Senate confirmation.

Lieberman’s hard-to-believe press statement says: “This bipartisan legislation represents the Senate at its best.

Alarming to me is the fact IMO includes Meida Control: Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs), Officer Corps, NOAA (controlling the weather?), Director of the Selective Service System, putting education in Obama’s control: National Security Education Board and National Board of Education Sciences. Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Public Health Services Corps (2536) and Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.

You should be truly frightened by now. Go through the list with a fine tooth comb and you will see the TOTAL and socialistic control of the Obama administration! When you get done with this list of positions exempted from Senate confirmation, you know this Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011 needs to be immediately repealed come January 2013! We can ONLY do that by insuring he is NOT reelected.

Thanks Congress! Your GOP control meant squat with this passage! The Senate is a lost cause unless we can retake it but we have control of Congress and I ask WHY?! For this?! I am infuriated! I want a list of the Reps. that voted for it. Dang, so upset I overlooked it:

95 Republicans Voted for it! I am spitting mad. Required percentage of ‘Aye’ votes: 2/3 (66%) Percentage of ‘aye’ votes: 60%. My critter is one of them and buddy will he get an earful! Rep. Spencer Bachus [R, AL-6] ‘Bite Me’ Other’s I am so disappointed in & intend to contact:

Rep. Eric Cantor [R, VA-7]
Rep. Jason Chaffetz [R, UT-3]
Rep. Trent Franks [R, AZ-2]
Rep. Jeb Hensarling [R, TX-5]
Rep. Duncan Hunter [R, CA-52]
Rep. Darrell Issa [R, CA-49]
Rep. Peter King [R, NY-3]
Rep. Paul Ryan [R, WI-1]
Rep. Tim Scott [R, SC-1]
Rep. James Sensenbrenner [R, WI-5]
Rep. Peter Sessions [R, TX-32]

JUST to name a few that as of today have broken my heart. Check out those voting Nay & the abstains. This is an eyeopener. WHAT were they thinking?! I intend to ask them to explain themselves! Is there something ‘I’ am getting wrong? Please then correct me. Is there something ‘I’ am misunderstanding? Correct me. But explain yourselves!

JUST have a gander at the list of positions exempted from Senate confirmation.

I agree with Robert that this is a story flying under the radar and he trusted me to get the word out there. I thank Josh Gerstein for posting this. I’m counting on all of you to help us with that. ~ JP
