“Every Muslim will be asked about the Zionists’ usurpation of al-Aqsa Mosque. Why did he not seek to recover it, and wage Jihad in His way? Did he not care about the fatwa of the ulema [scholars] of the Muslims, ‘Jihad of self and money to recover al Aqsa is a duty on every Muslim?’” asked Mohamed Badie, General Guide of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, in a June 14th speech translated exclusively by the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

* His last name does not escape me Bad-ie

The speech from the Brotherhood’s Ikhwan Online website is evidence that the group has not moderated its position even an iota, despite assurances to Western audiences.

“How happy would be the Muslims if all Muslim rulers made the Palestinian cause a pivotal issue, around which Muslims, rulers and the ruled, would line up,” he stated. According to Badie, they would ally to make “the sole goal for all of them the recovery of al Aqsa Mosque, freeing it from the filth of the Zionists, and imposing Muslim rule throughout beloved Palestine.”

“The Lord of Glory has threatened these murdering Zionists criminals with a penalty of a kind which operates in this world before the Hereafter, he said, before referencing a Quranic quote calling Jews “apes, despised.”

“We say to our people and our brothers in Palestine (all of Palestine): Unity, unity, persistence, persistence, reconciliation, reconciliation, and patience, patience. Make your motto and your starting point be in confronting the Zionists,” he added.

Badie also made reference to the role of Hamas-tied convoys, in aiding in the effort to eliminate the Jewish state:

“Know that there stands by you every sincere Muslim mujahid from all over the world, and all the honorable nationalists. Do not presume that you are alone in the field, but there stands at your side and with you every free honorable noble man who rejects injustice, murder and bloodshed,” he said, before stating, “Not far off are the Freedom flotillas which will come to you from various States, and Miles of Smiles which touched you from all over the world.”

The most recent convoy by Miles of Smiles, which is linked to the U.S. terrorist designated, British organization Interpal, was led by Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood head Hammam Saeed. Hamas’ Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called that convoy “the declaration of victory over the siege and the declaration of the enemy’s strategic failure in Gaza.”

The inability of the Muslim Brotherhood to change its rhetoric, leads to questions about how Egyptian President-elect Mohamed Morsi will serve to moderate the Islamist group’s beliefs and behavior.

~ Ironic to me that they use the mantra of ‘Miles of Smiles, when that was used for the organizing of the first Black trade union.

A trampoline hangs over a power line following Friday’s derecho

Reminds me of the photos we took days after the Alabama April 27th, 2011 tornado outbreak:

A tree toppled by severe storms sits atop a car in Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood on Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Washington. More than two million people across the eastern U.S. lost power after violent storms and two people died, including a 90-year-old woman asleep in bed when a tree slammed into her home, a police spokeswoman said Saturday. (AP Photo/Jessica Gresko)

A “super derecho” of violent thunderstorms left a more than 700-mile trail of destruction across the Midwest and mid-Atlantic on Friday, cutting power to millions and killing thirteen people.

More than 600 damaging wind reports were received by NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) as the derecho took roughly 12 hours to race from northern Indiana to the southern mid-Atlantic coast.

A derecho is defined as a widespread and long-lived wind storm that accompanies rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms. The most severe derechos are given the adjective “super.”

HUGE-Derecho North Lewisburg Ohio-6/29/2012

Friday’s super derecho was triggered by a ripple in the jet stream and fueled by the intense heat that caused Washington, D.C., to set a June record high and Columbia, S.C., to break its all-time record on Friday.

Derechos typically strike the lower Midwest states once every year, according to the SPC. The occurrence of derechos, however, are quite rare across the mid-Atlantic, south of Philadelphia. On average, this region endures a derecho once every four years.

As the temperature crept past 90 degrees Sunday afternoon, the number left to swelter without out power in the Washington region crept down by degrees, but many braced for life without air conditioning, lights and refrigeration for days to come.

The number without power was dropping by the hour — 739,187 at noon, down by almost 40,000 since 8:30 a.m. — and power was fully restored to water pumping stations in Maryland, ending mandatory water restrictions in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

But Pepco officials estimated it could be Friday before power is restored to nearly all of its customers in Maryland and D.C. who are without electricity.

Violent storms swept across the eastern U.S., killing at least 10 people and knocking out power to millions of people on a day that temperatures across the region are expected to reach triple-digits. The heat wave continues.

What a lowlife. America, oust the occupier in the White House. – Pamela Geller

Obama’s campaign proverbially spiked the football in light of Obamacare being held up by the Supreme Court, marketing a t-shirt that says “Still a BFD” on it. Obama’s @BarackObama Twitter account tweeted a link to where people could buy the $30 t-shirt, if they can spare $30 in a down economy.

The “BFD,” of course, is a reference to what Vice President Joe Biden said to Obama before Obama signed Obamacare into law in the East Room of the White House. Biden, forgetting there were microphones around him, told him that it was a “Big f****ing deal.” Open microphones caught those words. The moment went viral, and the Obama campaign immediately launched a “BFD” marketing campaign, capitalizing on the Vice President’s crassness that overshadowed Obama’s legislative accomplishment.

When Obama tweets from his account, he signs his tweets “BO,” so a staffer tweeted the link to the “Still a BFD” t-shirt. Obama’s campaign should have a separate Twitter account for his campaign and allow Obama to exclusively tweet from his personal account to prevent his account — and by extension, the office of the president — from being cheapened by such crass and gimmicky tweets. But with top Democrats on his campaign who tweet vulgarities, this is probably par for the course for Team Obama and will likely spur those opposed to Obamacare to donate even more money to Mitt Romney and conservatives determined to repeal the law.

From Mediaite:

More interesting, though, is the “Obamacare” bumper sticker. From Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter’s email to supporters:

The Supreme Court ruling on health reform means that the law that’s already helping millions of families can go right on doing that.
But let’s not kid ourselves: What happened yesterday means nothing if Mitt Romney is given the chance to repeal Obamacare.
We have to win this election. Tomorrow is the biggest fundraising deadline we’ve faced on this campaign.

Support President Obama with a donation of $5 or more today and you’ll get your free Obamacare bumper sticker

While President Obama has taken a few stabs at reclaiming the “Obamacare” label, this bumper sticker is a major step toward taking advantage of the free branding that Republicans have been tirelessly working on for years. Now that the media has come around to the idea that Obamacare isn’t a political liability, that snappy, effective label is perfect for a bumper sticker.

While the Supreme Court narrowly upheld the core of President Obama’s health care law Thursday, the justices came down hard against a provision that would have expanded Medicaid to millions more low-income Americans. As passed by Congress, the legislation expanded Medicaid to nearly everyone making up to 133 percent of the federal poverty line, which would have added an estimated 16 million people to state Medicaid rolls over the next seven years. States that refused to comply would run the risk of losing all Medicaid funding.

In the map , each state is shaded according to how much its Medicaid program would expand under the new law, according to the higher end of the Kaiser Family Foundation’s estimates (pdf, page 45). Each state is also shaded red or green, based on whether it has passed a law or constitutional amendment opposing health care reform. (Alabama and Wyoming have proposed amendments on the 2012 ballot.)

See Interactive Map

Seven justices ruled that the move went too far, and that the government can only withhold the funds to expand Medicaid, not existing money that helps states run their pre-expansion programs.

So will more conservative states take advantage of this new leeway and reject the expansion? That’s what Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman, a Republican, suggested Thursday, when he said that he opposed expanding Medicaid in his state. A spokeswoman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has made a show of rejecting federal funds in the past, wouldn’t say whether he would block the expansion. Medicaid is often one of the biggest lines in states’ budgets, and that share is growing as health care costs continue to rise.

But some of the early opposition may turn out to be saber rattling. The federal government is funding 100 percent of the state expansion for the first few years before reducing their contribution to a permanent 90 percent. That’s a much higher contribution than the government currently makes for Medicaid (at 57 percent), which every state now participates in, even though it is also an optional program. And in addition to the government providing a sweet deal, the states who sued over the expansion account for most of the country’s unemployed people, which might make it particularly difficut for their governors to turn down a chance to insure their residents at a tenth of the cost.

According to the National Journal’s Ron Brownstein, the 26 states that sued over the Medicaid expansion contain 55 percent of the nation’s uninsured, a total of 27.6 million uninsured people. Texas alone has 6.1 million uninsured people. Expanding Medicaid in Texas would cover 2.0 million people, the Kaiser Family Foundation (pdf).

With Google being the major presence on the internet and now seemingly having ties to the government and doing their bidding in providing information and even censoring web sites, it should come as no surprise that Google is now in the business of gun control. That’s right, Google Shopping is now controlling guns, ammunition and gun accessories from showing up in their search. They are censoring perfectly legal products.

A weapon’s parts and accessories vendor, Hamlund Tactical received a notice from Google outlining what they expected from their customer. The notice said:

Dear Merchant,

We’re writing to let you know about some upcoming changes to the product listings you submit to Google. As we recently announced, we are starting to transition our shopping experience to a commercial model that builds on Product Listing Ads. This new shopping experience is called Google Shopping. As part of this transition, we’ll begin to enforce a set of new policies for Google Shopping in the coming weeks. A new list of the allowed, restricted, and prohibited products on Google Shopping is available on our new policy page

Based on a review of the products you’re currently submitting, it appears that some of the content in your Merchant Center account, HamLund Tactical, will be affected by these policy changes. In particular we found that your products may violate the following policies:

Weapons

When we make this change, Google will disapprove all of the products identified as being in violation of policies. We ask that you make any necessary changes to your feeds and/or site to comply, so that your products can continue to appear on Google Shopping.

To help you through this new set of policies and how to comply with them, we would like to give you some specific suggestions regarding the changes needed to keep your offers running on Google Shopping.
