The Obama Administration has given a former director at the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) nearly half a billion dollars to offer “struggling” Illinois homeowners mortgage assistance, a Judicial Watch investigation has found.

It means the ACORN official (Joe McGavin) will go from operating a corrupt leftist community group that’s banned by Congress from receiving federal funding to controlling over $445 million in U.S. taxpayer funds. The money is part of a $7.6 billion Treasury Department program to help the “unemployed or substantially underemployed” make their mortgage payments.

In this case, JW found that a subcomponent of the state-run Illinois Housing Development Authority, known as the Illinois Hardest Hit Program, received a generous $445,603,557 Treasury infusion. The Obama Administration established Hardest Hit in 2010 to provide targeted aid to families in states hit hardest by the economic and housing market downturn, according to its website.

In early 2011 McGavin was appointed as director of Hardest Hit. Before that he was director of counseling for ACORN Housing in Chicago and operations manager for a Chicago ACORN offshoot called Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA). His strong ties to ACORN make him a suspect candidate to handle such a huge amount of taxpayer dollars.

The Obama-tied community organization supposedly shut down after a series of exposés about its illegal activities, including fraudulent voter registration drives and involvement in the housing market meltdown. Read all about it in Judicial Watch’s special report, “The Rebranding of ACORN.” The legal scandals led Congress to pass a 2009 law banning federal funding for ACORN, which for years enjoyed a huge flow of taxpayer dollars to promote its various leftwing causes.

Oct 5, 2011 ACORN REBRANDED: ACORN is still alive, just not by that name. That’s the conclusion of the group Judicial Watch, who is out with a new report called “The Rebranding of ACORN.” Houston’s Morning News talks about it with Chris Farrell, Director of investigations and research at Judicial Watch.

The Obama Administration has violated the congressional ACORN funding ban, however. Last summer Judicial Watch uncovered records that show ACORN got tens of thousands of dollars in grants to “combat housing and lending discrimination.” The money came via Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which awarded a $79,819 grant to AHCOA.

In addition to violating the ACORN funding ban, the grant was astounding because federal investigators had previously exposed fraud by the same Florida-based ACORN/AHCOA affiliate. HUD’s inspector general found that the group “inappropriately” spent more than $3.2 million in grants that were supposed to be used to eliminate lead poisoning in its housing program.

Health officials are investigating a mysterious and scattered outbreak of the E. coli bacteria linked to 14 illnesses and one death.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said no form of contaminated food or other cause has been identified in the illnesses, which occurred in April and May. They are spread among six states.

Three people were hospitalized. One – a child in the New Orleans area – died last week.

The outbreak strain is E. coli 0145, a dangerous but not well-known type of bacteria. The strain was fingered in a 2010 outbreak that sickened more than two dozen people in at least five states.

Frustrated Barack Obama hasn’t reached out to the Black Community only but to set up a website- (AP Photo/Alex Brandon)

Barack Obama has nobody but himself to blame for the situation he finds himself in with the Black community. During his entire presidency it seems that he has not spent time even trying to help the country as a whole but furthermore, he has not enabled the employment environment room to hire more minorities in the workplace. Unemployment for the black community spiked at 17% during these 3.5 years and Obama hit the road telling Black Americans to “stop complaining”

September 2011. He caught some heat for this from his black constituents:

Barack Obama telling a Black American audience to take off their “slippers” is downright derogatory if you ask me and many more people who think like I do. Not only did he rub some voters the wrong way with this but his stance from civil unions to gay marriage in a public environment sent a few over the top. The Black community has long believed that homosexuality was not a civil rights issue and in the eyes of God was wrong. To be told by a politician that you supported that he “evolved” on the issue is not what Black America wanted to hear.

May 15, 2012 Don’t vote for Obama, God says it’s wrong (Anti-Gay Richmond pastor goes in on President Obama)

I voted him in, now I’m gonna vote him out

Black are not against homosexuals just the sin of homosexuality is what this pastor is speaking about. Don’t let it get mixed up…there are many more that feel this way. Will the fall out be enough to turn the tide, we shall see. – Rev Shirley Snead

A Richmond pastor stands on Broad Street protesting President Obama’s stance on gay marriage. She accused President Obama of pretending that he was against gay rights and turning his back on god. Rev Shirley Snead stood on the corner holding a bible and wearing two signs, one saying “Don’t vote for Obama” and on the back it said “God says it’s wrong”. She says that she will not vote for President Obama because of his views on homosexuality. The pastor said that she will stand out there until the election in November. She quoted Leviticus and talked about women marrying dogs. Several people challenged her views including a homeless woman and brought interesting perspective. I interviewed the pastor and what she has to say may shock some of you. If you’re interested in debating or talking with Reverend Shirley, she stands on the corner of 18th and Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia. She says she will be out there until November or until god tells her to get off the corner. Reverend Shirley Snead also appeared on NBC News 12.

God Bless Rev Shirley Snead!!! Obama Stood on God’s word, Now He’s turned wishy-washy

As you can see, rain amounts of 2 inches are likely for this part of the Deep South, with potential for more.

TIMING: For North and Central Alabama, we should be rain-free tomorrow morning, but scattered showers and storms should begin to develop by mid to late afternoon. Still, the most widespread rain tomorrow will be to the south and west, closer to the upper low. Then, widespread rain is likely Sunday, along with a few thunderstorms. Sunday could very well turn out to be a “wash-out” kind of day with a long duration soaking for a pretty large part of Alabama. Many communities won’t get out of the 70s Sunday because of the clouds and rain.

The rain will continue on Monday, then tapering off to the more routine scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday. Drier air invades North Alabama over the latter half of the week with showers becoming few and far between by Thursday and Friday.
