As a home schooling parent in the 90′s, what our schools are indoctrinating today to their students, is it any wonder why groups such as the ‘Moms’ are formed? They fight for what children should not see and it is to be applauded. Necessary filters have infested our home computers to keep them from offensive websites. But as a Mom there is JUST so much you can filter your children from. We need more organizations like One Million Moms to fight for what should be removed from society. We should encourage Christian films. We should support groups such as this. I was encouraged listening to this testimony…

Are you as a mother, fed up with the trash in today’s media? Let your voice be heard.

Mom, are you fed up with the filth many segments of our society, especially the entertainment media, are throwing at our children? Are you tired of all the negative influences our children are forced to contend with? If so, we urge you to become a member of OneMillionMoms.com.

OneMillionMoms.com was begun to give moms an impact with the decision-makers and let them know we are upset with the messages they are sending our children and the values (or lack of them) they are pushing.

Our goal is to stop the exploitation of our children, especially by the entertainment media (TV, music, movies, etc.). Mom, OneMillionMoms.com is the most powerful tool you have to stand against the immorality, violence, vulgarity and profanity the entertainment media is throwing at your children. It is time to fight back!

We are searching for one million moms who are willing to join the fight for our children. We want our children to have the best chance possible of living in a moral society.

OneMillionMoms.com will, with input from our members, select a target and prepare an email. You can reword our letter to make it your own, or send it as is. We provide all the information you need to be heard. And we make it easy for you to be heard!

One Million Moms got a bad rap when they said Ellen’s endorsement for JC Penny was unacceptable. Being called homophobes and as the left rolls, the ‘Moms’ stuck up for their Christian beliefs in the face of what has become a politically correct society.

Degeneres is not a true representation of the type of families that shop at their store. The majority of JC Penney shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there. The small percentage of customers they are attempting to satisfy will not offset their loss in sales.

Mom, it is time to take a stand for your children! Join OneMillionMoms.com today! I did! ~ JP

One of the things that impressed me most in Monica Cole’s presentation is the movie made by American Family named Paper Dream

Christy had a dream…

For as long as she can remember, Christy Davis has wanted to be a mom, but things haven’t worked out the way she imagined them. When hopes of getting pregnant fall through, she and her husband Matt turn to adoption, but will that be enough to fill their longing for a child?

American Family Studios is proud to present a story of hope in the midst of difficult circumstances. Do unfulfilled dreams define who we are, or is God enough to give us fulfillment?

FOX NEWS: Medicare’s payment system, the unseen but vital network that handles 100 million monthly claims, could freeze if President Barack Obama’s health care law is summarily overturned, the administration quietly informed the courts.

In papers filed with the Supreme Court, administration lawyers warned of “extraordinary disruption” if Medicare is forced to unwind countless transactions that are based on payment changes required by more than 20 separate sections of the Affordable Care Act.

The Obama administration warned the Supreme Court this week via papers filed with the Court that if Obamacare is struck down, there will be an “extraordinary disruption” in Medicare. Medicare was not discussed during the Supreme Court arguments, since it was not a Constitutional issue. This is a practical argument, not a legal one; it’s the Obama administration applying pressure to the Supremes.

But that’s what the Obama administration does – they focus on the politics of the situation rather than on the legalities. If they can’t win on the law, they figure, they’ll push the Court to act via “empathy,” President Obama’s favorite legal standard. And if they lose, they’ll blame the Court for destroying Medicare.

It’s a win-win for the Obama administration: if the Court strikes down Obamacare, Obama will blame the Court for harming Medicare. If the Court upholds Obamacare to prevent an “extraordinary disruption” in Medicare, Obama gets what he wants.

The simple fact is that the “disruption in Medicare” argument could have been made during oral arguments (particularly the section on severability). It wasn’t. Instead, the Obama administration waits until now to “quietly” inform the Supremes, according to the Associated Press.

This is politics, pure and simple.

Consider this one of the unintended consequences of not identifying the real enemy of the United States after 9/11. Instead of declaring war on a tactic (terror) – while identifying al-Qaeda as the target – we allowed other groups under the Muslim Brotherhood umbrella to set down stronger roots and accumulate power.

Now, one of the groups that shares al-Qaeda’s goals, if not its means, is the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). One of the short term goals of the Muslim Brotherhood group apparently includes the reelection of Barack Obama and ISNA will be actively working for that reality in Tampa, FL.

Muslim Brotherhood invades Tampa to re-elect President Obama!

A Muslim Brotherhood front group, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) will hold a pro-shariah Conference in Tampa, Florida on May 11 – 13, 2012. The Conference will be at the Hilton Hotel Airport 2225 North Lois Avenue, Tampa FL. ISNA is a cultural jihad organization that has been designated as an “un-indicted co-conspirator” in the federal terrorism financing case called – Holy land Foundation Trial. The Muslim Brotherhood is actively working to get President Obama re-elected. Join with many patriotic Americans as we stand against the Muslim Brotherhood in Florida. Rush: By the time Julia gets to 67 the only question she’s going to have is, which re-education camp does she have to go to next?

The latest social media innovation from the Obama campaign is called “The Life Of Julia.” It is not, as the title suggests, some outré piece of high-toned erotica. Rather, it’s an interactive web doohickey that allows users to walk through life in the shoes of a young woman — a “composite,” if you will — named Julia, as she benefits at every turn from various policies the White House has either passed or promoted or promises for the near future.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s Iranian attorney has been convicted for his work defending human rights and is expected to have to begin serving his nine-year sentence in the near future.

Illegally Imprisoned, 936 days

As we have previously reported, Pastor Youcef’s attorney, Mohammad Ali Dadkhah, was sentenced to nine years in prison and banned from practicing law or teaching for ten years by the Iranian government, essentially for representing individuals like Pastor Youcef.

Read story…

Now persecuted pastor’s lawyer facing jail

When Iranian officials demanded that Pastor Youcef recant his faith in Jesus Christ or die, he responded, “I cannot.” For his faith, he has been sentenced to death and illegally imprisoned – separated from his wife and two young sons for nearly three years.

We cannot allow his imprisonment to continue.

The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed a resolution calling for Pastor Youcef’s release, and now we are asking the Senate to do the same.

The ACLJ’s Tweet for Youcef campaign is now reaching more than 2 million Twitter accounts worldwide.

Thank you as well to the thousands of you who have signed up to Tweet for Youcef. You are making a tremendous difference in the fight for the life of Christian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who faces execution in Iran for his faith.

Tweet for Youcef is now one of the largest, if not the largest, donate a tweet campaign in the world.

Video from May 4, 2012 storm chase in central Nebraska. Some of the best supercell structure I have ever seen.

On April 14, 2012, storm chasers Dave Demko and Heidi Farrar documented multiple tornadoes in northern Oklahoma, near the towns of Cherokee and Manchester, including two simultaneous tornadoes from close range.

EXTREME wind velocities–likely well into the range associated with EF-5 damage–were responsible for the dramatic audible roar as the tornado moved within 100 yards of them). This same storm continued northeast into Kansas and produced several damaging tornadoes after dark, notably in south Wichita and at McConnel Air Force Base in Andover.

Violent drillbit tornado! April 14, 2012

Storm chasers Dave Demko and Heidi Farrar documented this VIOLENT “drillbit” tornado from close range near Cherokee, Oklahoma during the major tornado outbreak on April 14, 2012. EXTREME wind velocities–likely well into the range associated with EF-5 damage–were responsible for the dramatic audible roar as the tornado moved within 100 yards of them. This was one of two simultaneous tornadoes that occurred at around 8:00 PM, and was produced by the same storm that went on to put down multiple long-track tornadoes across southern Kansas, causing damage in the Wichita metro area and McConnel Air Force base in Andover.

Astronomers have spotted a unique sight – a star in a distant galaxy being ‘eaten’ by a black hole four million times the size of the sun.

The resulting gigantic explosion sparked a flare so brilliant that observers detected it from a distance of 2.1 billion light-years away.

Giant black holes occupy the centers of most large galaxies, including our own. Its central black hole is four million times as massive as the sun and swallows a star once every 10,000 to 100,000 years.

Scientists say capturing the event is unprecedented.

‘This is the first time where we’re really seeing one of these events from start to finish,’ said astronomer Suvi Gezari of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. ‘What was so spectacular was the fact that we actually could figure out what type of star was disrupted.’

NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory has mapped the debris of a supernova and discovered that the explosion may have turned the original star inside out. Peering into the heart of the inverted star, astronomers have found the atoms of life itself.

Tonight’s full Moon is a perigee moon, as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons of 2012. This is a harmless but beautiful astronomical phenomenon. Enjoy the moonlight!

Another “super-Moon” is in the offing. The perigee full Moon in May will be as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons of 2012.

Details:

After the moon cleared the horizon clouds, I walked on the dock and snapped the moon peeking in and out of some light clouds (400mmIS hand held;1/500;ISO1000;f8 Canon 7D). A 10ft gator appeared 60ft offshore and I thought I could get him in the moon’s reflection from the shore (28mm;1/45;ISO800;f4). He moved to the left and so did I-right into knee deep wet sand. I was struggling to step out but I sank even more. The gator saw an opportunity (100mm;1/125;ISO3200;f5.6) and was now 40ft away. I lay flat on the sand, camera held high, and popped my feet out as the gator submerged. I scrambled back to the dock and safety. Now I know that the full moon can make you do crazy things- the definition of lunacy?

On this day before the full moon the waxing gibbous moon (93%) rises a little more than an hour before sunset. This allows late afternoon colors to bathe Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona, as the moon peeks from behind the rock.

The 2012 eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks on May 5, 2012. The shower can be seen from both hemispheres, but the southern hemisphere is favored, receiving twice as many meteors as the north. Taking moonlight into account, forecasters estimate a maximum of 30+ visible meteors per hour. The best time to look, no matter where you live, is during the hours just before local sunrise.

Eta Aquarids are flakes of dust from Halley’s Comet, which last visited Earth in 1986. Although the comet is now far away, beyond the orbit of Uranus, it left behind a stream of dust. Earth passes through the stream twice a year in May and October. In May we have the eta Aquarid meteor shower, in October the Orionids. Both are caused by Halley’s Comet.

The eta Aquarid meteor shower is peaking today as Earth passes through a stream of debris from Halley’s Comet. Unfortunately, bright moonlight is washing out all of the faint meteors, but some eta Aquarids are piercing the glare. Last night, NASA’s network of all-sky fireball cameras recorded eight fireballs, including this one exploding over New Mexico

“Highlights of the month include the Eta Aquarid meteor shower, which peaks on May 6th and an annular solar eclipse that will be seen in the western United States. Venus, Saturn and Mars are part of the planetary spectacle in the night sky.” Credit: Space Telescope Science Institute, Office of Public Outreach

The shower could continue for another 12 to 24 hours. For last-chance sightings, watch the sky just before sunrise on Sunday, May 6th. Because the shower’s radiant is located below the celestial equator, southern-hemisphere observers are favored, but northerners might see a few fireballs, too.

Got clouds? No problem. Tune into Space Weather Radio for live echoes from eta Aquarids passing over the US Air Force Space Surveillance Radar in Texas. Radar signals can detect meteors in bad weather, through lunar glare, and even in broad daylight.

VENUS IS NOT ALONE: When the sun sets tonight, go outside and look west. The Evening Star, Venus, is not alone. Second-magnitude star El Nath is less than a degree away. Marek Nikodem photographed the pair on May 2nd from the countryside near Niedźwiady, Poland:

The planet and the star are converging. At closest approach on May 6th, they will be 0.8 degrees apart, a gap so small you can hide it behind the outstreched tip of your index finger.

If you have a telescope, point it at Venus. The planet is at its brightest for all of 2012, and backyard optics easily resolve it into a 27% crescent. Swing over to El Nath for a different experience. The star, which lies 130 light years away, is a pinprick of light unresolved by the most powerful telescopes on Earth.
