What prompted me to put this together is fracking is going on right now to the point of shaking my home. Now Alabama is known for coal mining but not in my town. So what are they frackin’ for? We recently had an ‘earthquake’, 6 km (3 miles) W of Jasper, Alabama (my town). No doubt in my mind that Fracking is responsible.

Right now every time I hear that BOOM, I get so angry. Nerve shattering. When I was a kid back in the 50s, the Sonic Boom would terrify me. Now being a transplanted Southerner it’s Frick Frack Frackin! We never quite figured out what caused the BOOM back then. Grandpa said it was every time they sent a blasted airship into space -g-

The following is an original investigative report by Earth Focus and UK’s Ecologist Film Unit looks at the risks of natural gas development in the Marcellus Shale. From toxic chemicals in drinking water to unregulated interstate dumping of potentially radioactive waste that experts fear can contaminate water supplies in major population centers including New York City, are the health consequences worth the economic gains?

But do not be misled. Fracking happens not JUST for petroleum and natural gas, but also coal seam gas. ( See Gas Coal Seam Cheat Sheet) Any substance is used for extraction, where the technique is often called fracking or hydrofracking. This type of fracturing, known colloquially as a frack job (or frac job), is done from a wellbore drilled into reservoir rock formations. The energy from the injection of a highly-pressurized fracking fluid creates new channels in the rock which can increase the extraction rates and ultimate recovery of fossil fuels.

* Boom! Boom!

The Health risks are numerous:

Fracking chemicals are linked to bone, liver and breast cancers, gastrointestinal, circulatory, respiratory, developmental as well as brain and nervous system disorders. Such chemicals are present in frack waste and may find their way into drinking water and air.

If it can do THIS to your water, then you can only imagine the health risks, particularly in rural areas that have a much different water supply and waste management issues. Our Mayor Posey (Local Hardware store owner) declared Foul odor, taste issues continue with city water. Being I have two auto immune disorders, needless to say I was terrified for my my health. I had three cats die within a year’s time. Don’t tell me this rural water is NOT affected by fracking. Read my report: Our water was extremely dismal in 2010.

Sherry Vargson gave the group a tour of her farm in Granville Township, where Chesapeake Energy has drilled one well and installed compressor and metering stations and a gathering pipeline. She said her water became contaminated with methane after maintenance activities at the site in June 2010, and lit water from her tap alight for a trip attendees and the media.

The spin of course, is that people like me and Dutch and all those affected by fracking somehow is playing on emotion like many of the frac-tivists do. I’m here to tell you I’m no ‘fractavist’ . I recently learned about fracking thanks to Dutch last year. Up to that point I thought hey whats wrong with mining? But my paternal grandfather who was a Polish Nostradamus, always told me my instincts are the most relevant guideline to knowing where to find the truth. Honed instinct has saved my life and my children’s. Instinct tells me that this is something to worry over.

From the Market Guardian:

* Note: I tried to find out WHO is behind the ‘Market Guardian’ no luck, which leads me to distrust the source’s connections to Big Oil.

To access this gas, fluids made of water, sand, and chemicals to increase lubrication, inhibit corrosion of equipment, and possessing other qualities are pumped into the shale formation. When the pressure from the fluids exceeds the strength of the rocks, the rock fractures, and in a demonstration of might by the mighty small, the granules of sand prop the fractures open. Once the fracturing is completed, the internal pressure from the formation pushes the injected fluids to the surface again.

Frac wells are only open to the surrounding rock at the depth of the target formation. Starting at 250 feet (76 meters) or thereabouts above the producing interval – it varies a bit from state to state – the production casing must be cemented. This graphic, borrowed from the Texas Oil and Gas Association, shows what the procedure entails.

The following diagram is from The Voice of the Irate, Tireless Minority It is a good indicator where fracking is going on :

Our final analysis is the government knows full and well ahead of time and we all know they are in bed with big corporations. The Army Corp of Engineers, USGS etc. monitor the area being fracked so then are they complicit? Are they an accomplice? IMO yes. And why would any whistleblower even try to expose them? What does an honorable whistleblower get but threats and grief?

No friends, we are screwed before we even begin to try to find the ‘Truth’. ~ JP

Well the ‘Boom’ has stopped for now. Must be taking an early lunch…
