MOSCOW (AP) — Russia’s customs agency announced Friday it has seized pieces of radioactive metal from the luggage of an Iranian passenger bound for Tehran from one of Moscow’s main airports.
It was not immediately clear if the substance could be any use to Iran’s controversial nuclear program.
Iran’s semi-official news agency ISNA confirmed that material had been seized from the luggage of an Iranian passenger in Moscow about a month ago, but denied it was radioactive.
Russia’s Federal Customs Service said in a statement that agents found 18 pieces of metal, packed in steel pencil cases, at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport after a radiation alert went off. It said the gauges showed that radiation levels were 20 times higher than normal.
The last US military convoy has left Iraq’s territory on Sunday, finalizing the pullout. The motorcade of 110 armored vehicles carrying 500 officers and soldiers, accompanied by a helicopter patrol, has crossed into Kuwait. The nine-year war and occupation cost 4,500 American lives and 500 of the lives of their allies.
American soldiers celebrate as they cross the border into Kuwait, leaving Iraq and marking the end of the nearly nine-year war that cost thousands of American and Iraqi lives, $800 billion from U.S. Treasury.
KHABARI CROSSING, Kuwait – The last U.S. soldiers rolled out of Iraq across the border into neighboring Kuwait at daybreak Sunday, whooping, fist bumping and hugging each other in a burst of joy and relief. Their convoy’s exit marked the end of a bitterly divisive war that raged for nearly nine years and left Iraq shattered, with troubling questions lingering over whether the Arab nation will remain a steadfast U.S. ally.

The Obama administration, through its secret three-day State Department meeting this past week, has aligned itself with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to back the United Nations tolerance resolution 16/18.
Obama now wants to dictate Sharia freedom via the United Nations!
“Combating intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatization of, and discrimination, incitement to violence and violence against persons based on religion or belief” is the former official title of the current United Nations resolution, which may be passed in the next few days!
The measure was adopted by “consensus” without even a vote at the United Nations Human Rights Council last March. Yes, within days, the United Nations is poised to endorse the resolution!
This past Wednesday, at the close of the three-day closed door session headed by the United States, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the final session that the resolution adoption had “ended ten years of divisive debate where people were not listening to each other anymore.”
OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that the passage of this historic resolution “clearly demonstrated that, as a mature international organization, OIC was not wedded to either a particular title or the content of a resolution. We just wanted to ensure that the actual matter of vital concern and interest to OIC member states was addressed.”
“I particularly appreciate the kind personal interest of Secretary Clinton and the role played by the United States towards the consensual adoption of the resolution.”
“Let me be clear. In a world faced with the menace of terrorism, the implications of not evolving a normative framework to respond to hate speech and other forms of incitement to hatred, discrimination, and violence, cannot and must not be ignored.”
We are concerned about how this United Nations’ resolution could be interpreted. Could the burning of a Qur’an be seen as inciting “imminent violence,” given the intensity of Islamic feelings about the sacredness of the book?
Elizabeth Kendall, an international religious liberty advocate and analyst, declares: “Far from being a breakthrough for free speech…is actually more dangerous than” the religious defamation declarations, previously brought before the U.N. She went on to say: “The strategic shift from defamation to incitement actually advances the OIC’s primary goal: the criminalization of criticism of Islam.”
Jihad Watch reports that Dwight Holten, a top Department of Justice official, said on October 19 at a Washington, D.C. event scheduled by the department, that “Materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive…will not be tolerated,” and are a threat to national security.
All three officials are outspoken Islamists who believe the Muslim Brotherhood’s appearance of supposed tolerance and moderation.
Senator Kerry gave credibility and praise to the recent Egyptian elections. Kerry also pledged American support for Egypt’s new Islamist government. He also called for the U.S.-funded International Monetary Fund (IMF) to benefit the Egyptian government with financial support. That’s right, representing the United States; Senator Kerry gave high praise to the extremist group in compensating them with promised additional assistance!
Kerry’s diplomatic blessing of the Muslim Brotherhood unites with an increased engagement of the radical Islamist group by the Obama administration!
Sharia Law is taking over the world – one country at a time—with the United States as one of its main objectives! Sharia Law is orthodox Islam’s repressive, supremacist political-military-legal system. Its major goal is to destroy Western civilization in favor of a new global spiritual leader that will govern Muslims and non-Muslims alike according to its principles.
Sharia is by design a complete and all-encompassing doctrine. It dictates not only the rules governing religious practice but all other aspects of life as well. It is totally hostile to American freedoms in several ways, as it denies liberties that are guaranteed to us by the U.S. Constitution.
My Friend, SHARIA LAW IS ALREADY HERE IN THE UNITED STATES!!
Former National Security Advisor Jim Jones called today for quick action on the Keystone XL pipeline construction, directly opposing the White House he worked for only a few months ago.
Jones, who rarely speaks in public and almost never contradicts his former boss President Barack Obama, lashed out against the administration in a press call and warned of grave consequences to U.S. national security if the project to build the pipeline doesn’t move forward immediately. The call was sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute and Jones was joined on the call by API President and CEO Jack Gerard.
“In a tightly contested global economy, where securing energy resources is a national must, we should be able to act with speed and agility. And any threat to this project, by delay or otherwise, would constitute a significant setback,” said Jones. “The failure to [move forward with the project] will prolong the risk to our economy and our energy security” and “send the wrong message to job creators.”
The comments come at the worst possible moment for the Obama administration, which is trying to beat back an effort from congressional Republicans to attach language that would force a decision on the pipeline to legislation that extends unemployment insurance and the payroll tax holiday for middle class Americans.
You won’t see this admission on any News Cable or MSM channel:
The Senate on Saturday approved a two-month extension of the payroll tax cut, virtually ensuring another partisan fight early next year over President Obama’s favored tax break while teeing up a separate battle over a controversial pipeline.
But the bill also puts some election-year pressure on Obama. To the administration’s chagrin, Republicans were able to secure in the legislation a provision that compels Obama to make a decision on the fate of the Canada-to-Texas Keystone pipeline in 60 days.
~ Let me get this straight. It passes for 60 days, he gets 60 days to decide. When will the GOP STOP insulting our collective intelligence?! You do the math and once again who gets Screwed?! ~ JP
The U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve a measure that would require the Obama administration to make a decision on the Keystone XL pipeline within 60 days. The pipeline was first proposed in 2008 but, despite the fact the President claims infrastructure projects create jobs and are an economic stimulus, after more than three years he has yet to decide whether or not a pipeline is in the “national interest.”
Though President Obama has sworn to veto any legislation mandating action on Keystone XL, the House-passed legislation does call attention to a central energy security issue. The pipeline in question would bring as much as to 830,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada—a reliable ally—to be refined, and likely used, here in the United States. Additionally, the Keystone pipeline’s expansion would create about 20,000 construction jobs alone and would lead to more job creation in the U.S. refining sector after the project is completed.
Nonetheless, there has been much vocal opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline from anti-oil activists who assume—incorrectly—that blocking the project will mean that Canada’s oil sands won’t be produced and consumed. On the contrary, countries like China, which has invested more than $15 billion in Canadian oil sands projects over the past 18 months alone, are eager to broker deals that ensure future access to these vast oil resources. Ultimately, Canada may have no other choice but to seek other markets for the 1.6 million barrels produced by oil sands per day.
The premier of Alberta, where the oil sands are principally located, said the following: “Our success is dependent on exports and the prosperity they bring, but U.S. demand is declining,” said Premier Alison Redford. “Asia’s star is rising and it will dominate the 21st Century. We can guarantee national prosperity for a long time to come by supplying them with the energy that they need.”
The implications of this missed opportunity will be most felt by US consumers, as the U.S. continues to spend $700 million per day on oil from overseas suppliers at today’s price of almost $100 per barrel. The ticker below displays a running total of how much money has been spent by the U.S. on non-Canadian foreign oil since the November 10 decision to delay the Keystone XL project.
NOTE: President Obama’s delay on the Keystone XL Pipeline sends:
~ Now, tell me why is it Obama gets his BIG spending bill NOW, but we have to wait for 60 days, right in the middle of the primaries in key states, to get his decision on the XL Pipeline?! What happens to this 1 Trillion dollar spending bill if he decides NO?! I realize that the XL Pipeline is contained in the payroll tax bill but why is there even a stipulation Obama goes to Hawaii for 17 of this days, then we get no answer until he sees fit.
After passing the catchall spending bill House leaders sent their members home until Monday or later, planning to return when the Senate produces a payroll tax cut measure for the House to vote on. Even without the Keystone pipeline dispute, bargainers had still not reached agreement on how to extend a payroll tax cut through 2012, with major disagreements remaining over how to finance the package.
Sounds to me like our lousy party JUST may cave & Obama comes out smelling like (fill in the blank) JUST in time for the uniformed, headline grabbing voters, to give him the edge! ~ JP
