OAKLAND, Calif.—Occupy Wall Street protesters want to shut down ports up and down the West Coast on Monday in a bid to gum up the engines of global commerce.

But organizers who are partly billing this effort as a show of solidarity with longshoremen have not won the support of the powerful union representing thousands of dock workers.

The tension between the century-old International Longshore and Warehouse Union and a still-young protest movement has complicated an ambitious effort by Occupiers to build an identity that is bigger than their recently dismantled tent camps. Without the support of workers who make the docks run, the protesters will be forced to rely on sheer numbers and their own devices to blockade sprawling ports from San Diego to Alaska.

~ Snippet:

Organizers say the shutdowns are meant to highlight what they see as abuses inflicted by wealthy companies taking place well beyond Wall Street itself. They also hope to show that Occupy activists can still muster a major national protest despite the scattering of their camps by police raids.

To help warm up the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Chorus this season, we asked Calgarians to tweet their tips on how to keep warm in Calgary’s winter wonderland.

Follow us on Twitter: @calgary and @calgaryphil

Why is a 120-person chorus singing 140-character tweets? You may think tweets are meant to be read, not sung. But a Canadian choir is proving you wrong.

Imagine your pathetic little tweets sung by a majestic 120-member chorus. Timothy Shantz, the chorus masters says, “We decided to ask people to tweet about how to stay warm in a Calgary winter.”

“A fellow veteran contacted me concerning a new and disturbing development. He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food. The manager informed the agents that the facility kept no such records and that all transactions were conducted on a cash-and-carry basis. — Alex Jones

NOTE from Oath Keepers: We have pulled this story about the Mormon cannery being visited by federal agents because the source of the information at the cannery is now denying that he ever told us that event occurred.

From now on, we will NOT post any such story based on what we are told by other people unless, and until, they are willing to go on video or at least on an audio recording with their info. That way, in case someone starts to crumble under the public attention or other pressures, and wants to deny what they told us, we have video or audio proof.

It’s no secret that the Mormons, or Latter Day Saints (LDS), are preppers. One of their beliefs is that everyone needs to stockpile at least a one year supply of food for their own family. As such, they have lots of helpful resources and are happy to share with non-Mormons.

The Mormons have promoted food storage for many decades, and since they are so willing to share their expertise and resources, take advantage of it!…

Last nights debate, Mitt Romney: All I see Are Ron Paul Signs:

NOTE: Volume is horrid so tune it up all the way…

~ Up front I have to say I was no different than MSM or many of Ron Paul naysayers. I thought of him as our crazy uncle no one listens to. Well, I listened to him last night. And I learned I can still support our troops but understand what Paul means about no more wars. He is not doing it as a rabid left wing protester. He is doing it because we don’t belong in these countries losing our soldiers or the deficit it has caused.

He is correct in that these are not winnable wars since Korea.

Many perceive Ron Paul as ‘fringe’. Has anyone thought their is a good aspect to that word? It does not mean he is a lunatic fringe. He is a fringe that can serve as a benefit to all of us. I have seen no candidate that has the love for our country as he does.

Quoting Char:

The establishment is afraid of him because he would do away with what is their Status Quo and their ponzi schemes.

Ron Paul is the only Stateman in Congress. People don’t recognize a true Statesman because they are dumbed down and brainwashed by TV sound bites and video clips.

I have many friends who are ‘Paulites’ and have tried for a dozen or so years to ‘convert’ me. I wasn’t having it. But when I began to think about the why of his ‘Revolution’, I sought the answers. When I wanted to know the ‘truth’ behind the bias in MSM against him, while they were all caught with their pants down lying about his polls/straw polls, etc., I began to listen and research ‘who’ was Dr. Ron Paul truly? It has been described to me by one such Paulite:

Paulites love the U. S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Rule of Law even more than we love Ron Paul. We love our Country even more than we love Ron Paul. He represents our love of the guiding Principles of our Founding Fathers.

Paulites are about Principles above Party.

BTW the ABC poll after the debate is showing Paul with a commanding lead. Jason M. Volack of ABC news wrote: By all accounts, Ron Paul is on a roll in Iowa.

Char stated it best:

(See his) Voting records in Congress and saw that he had been CONSISTENTLY voting along the mandates of the U. S. Constitution, and he has always been a STRONG supporter of the Bill of Rights and the Rule of Law.

Ron Paul is a Principled man and not an empty suit. He is so sweet, accessible, and such a humble man— our very own modern day Thomas Jefferson.

“Every generation needs a new revolution.”

“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”

“If once the people become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature, in spite of individual exceptions.”

— Thomas Jefferson

How About Taking Our Oath Of Office Seriously:

ABC Iowa GOP Debate Highlights from last night:

Ron shows JUST why the bailouts did not & will not work. As Conservative Americans is this not how we all feel?? ~ JP

~ I dare you to watch this entire movie. Then I want you to tell me why Ron Paul is not the only clear choice to vote for in our primary? I cannot now say that. I so emotionally backed Cain, that I did not vet him enough, obviously. But this has been a very long time coming patriots, Ron Paul is an open book. You may not like where he stands on a given issue, but I guarantee you will know what you see/hear IS what you get. No surprises.

This man is eccentrically brilliant. JUST listen to him. He is not some nut job as portrayed by MSM. He is the real deal and has passion about this country. He has not been in hiding. The question is, Where have ‘We’ been hiding? ~ JP
