:: Experts: Casey should go to safe house ::

When Casey Anthony is released from jail Sunday, it will probably be in the middle of the night.

If her lawyers are smart, security experts say, they will arrange for several SUVs with tinted windows to pull up to the Orange County Jail. Then they will bundle her into one of them and whisk her away to a safe house, where she will be protected by bodyguards for days, if not weeks.

“I’d tell her to go to a big house in the middle of nowhere,” said Dallas-based security expert Stuart Diamond, who has worked for celebrities and federal agencies. “That would be the safest thing for her. It’s more of an effort for someone to really follow through on a threat.”

Online and elsewhere, Anthony has been vilified, many believing she got away with murder. Some have wished the same fate on her that prosecutors say befell her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Anthony’s legal team said Friday it received an emailed death threat with a doctored photo of the 25-year-old woman with a bullet hole through her forehead. The threat was forwarded to authorities.

:: Casey Anthony appealing her four convictions ::

~ It is all a ploy & ridiculous being Jose repeatedly said his client was a liar. And we all saw the tapes of her string of lies. It’s to buy time IMO.

Casey Anthony’s attorneys filed a notice Friday morning to appeal her four convictions for lying to police.

Earlier this month she was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter in the death of her daughter Caylee but she was convicted on four counts of lying to investigators looking into the June 2008 disappearance of the 2-year-old and ordered to pay $1,000.00 for each conviction.

Anthony’s attorneys also filed a motion that Anthony be deemed indigent and unable to pay her legal expenses associated with the appeal meaning taxpayers would have to foot the bill.

Ex-meter-reader Roy Kronk sues Leonard Padilla

Kronk says he was defamed by false statements.

Roy Kronk, the man who discovered Caylee Anthony’s remains, has sued bounty hunter Leonard Padilla in a defamation claim filed Friday afternoon in Orange Circuit Court.

The defamation complaint filed by Kronk attorney Howard Marks seeks more than $15,000 in damages.

“Over the course of two years, defendant Padilla published false and defamatory statements about plaintiff Kronk,” the lawsuit states.

It says the false statements were broadcast or published, posted on the Internet and through Twitter. It says the statements were made on national television shows, such as Nancy Grace and Dr. Drew.

Inmate wants to sue Casey Anthony for Caylee’s death

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – A South Carolina inmate has filed a petition against Casey Anthony seeking a DNA test to determine if he was the father of her 2-year-old toddler.

Christopher Umberger filed the petition in Orlando against Anthony, who was acquitted earlier this month of killing her daughter, Caylee.

Anthony is set to be released from jail on Sunday.

Umberger says in the court filing that he intends to sue Anthony for Caylee’s death. He provided no details to back up his claim. The petition was made public Friday as a separate hearing was held to determine if Anthony can be deposed for a defamation lawsuit before she leaves jail.

OS

UPDATE as I am posting while researching who he was:

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Prison officials say an inmate who claims he fathered 2-year-old Caylee Anthony was behind bars when she was conceived.

Christopher Umberger made the claim in court documents this week, but federal prisons spokesman Chris Burke says he was in prison between 2001 and 2009 for heroin trafficking. Umberger violated his supervised release and is in a South Carolina prison.

Inmate’s claim he fathered Caylee unfounded
