ATLANTA — The last thing Bulls fans expected to see in crunch time was Derrick Rose getting the ball stolen from him.

That’s exactly what Hawks point guard Jeff Teague did to Rose with 3 minutes, 2 seconds remaining in regulation Sunday night. Teague’s timely defensive play led to a fastbreak layup by Al Horford right when the Hawks needed it the most.

The play put the Hawks up 90-84, just enough cushion to escape with a 100-88 win in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Game 5 is at the United Center Tuesday night.

Thanks to ABC 33/40:

25 year old Jordan Lee said his father Tom, father of 13 children, died while trying to save family in Shoal Creek. Tom lived for the Lord:

SHOAL CREEK – AL -

“We were just kind of talking and looking out the windows, and then we heard it,” Jordan Lee said.

For Lee, a tornado does not sound like a train or a “bomb going off.”

“It got louder and louder, then it just hit,” he said. “Everything went dark and everyone was yelling.”

For him…a tornado sounds like panic, confusion and heartbreak.

In this first video you can see the EF4 damage from WIAT (CBS) the ‘ Day After ‘ :

:: Inside the Fultondale Tornado :: begins @ appox 1:00 min

Footage of the April 27, 2011 tornado that moved through Fultondale, Alabama just north of Birmingham. Filmed from the balcony of my 3rd floor apartment off I-65. (Before you get the idea I was being reckless and/or an idiot.. that was not the case. Between the time I walked from the front balcony to the back, it was upon me. So please consider your comments and use the manners your momma gave you.. or should have.) Thanks :) — minuszr0

We were on Hwy 78, not far from I 65. So the part of Fultondale we got out to view and talk to folks is from a different perspective. IMHO the film was also from Hwy 31 and it seems our images caught the brunt of the tornado. I was able to chat up a very nice lady, Sheila Winters, who drove here from Clarksdale, MS. to be with her son Charles for Mother’s Day. Charles lived JUST North of where we and everyone stopped to take these images:

The first two pics are of a house on 78 ( at the corner of Bankhead & LaFayette in Fultondale ) To the left of the house you see the tree trunk which is the size of the house.

~ In this shot you can see how huge the tree was on the left…

Tornado could change the look of Fultondale, AL. permanently

FULTONDALE — Alabama, Significant sections of the city of Fultondale may be permanently reshaped by the tornado that ripped through town last Wednesday.

The tornado — the tail end of the devastating Tuscaloosa-to-Birmingham twister — cut a mile-wide swath through the city stretching from the city’s southern border with Birmingham to Walker Chapel Road.

~ Click image for full story…

~ This shot had to be shot zoomed out to try to give you a scope of the magnitude how this entire neighborhood was leveled. As my mother-in-law Doris said : ” It looks like ancient ruins ” and with the tree stumps all straight up & broken, it certainly did.

~ As always, the tornado did not discriminate, as you can see some houses were left standing, while others were leveled

~ Another angle…

~ The ‘Ancient Ruins’. What was not captured in this shot was a home that was built like a medieval castle with moats. From that angle it was an eerie sight…

NOTE: Fultondale is JUST slightly North of Pratt City & was hit by the same tornado. It is the town Bill Cosby visited. It is JUST North of Downtown Birmingham, appox. 10 min away. It is appox. 45 miles from our town.

Fultondale family who lost all to Hurricane Katrina have to rebuild their lives again after Alabama tornado

FULTONDALE, Alabama — Tammie Marchese is all too familiar with losing everything.

Evacuating to Birmingham just before Hurricane Katrina, she returned to find her Chalmette, La., home had been swamped by oil-tainted floodwater. Two weeks after Katrina, her husband, Angelo, 48, died of a heart attack in their hotel room.

For all of you Mother’s and Grandmother’s it is our wish you have the day you desire. We hope you are not alone. Many of us have children far away & for us it is so hard. Many of us no longer have our own mother’s with us and that is a loss you never recover from. Our thoughts are with you all on this day. I personally feel every day should be Mother’s Day, not JUST one. I have a hard time with the way days are commercialized but hey that’s JUST me.

From us at JUST Piper, have a Blessed Day and let us pray for the Mother’s who have been lost from the tornadoes. Mother’s who have lost their children. And first time mother’s as in the following story…~JP

Leicia Fairchild had only one thing on her mind as a tornado ripped apart her home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, last week.

“My son, my son, I got to get to my son,” Fairchild recalls.

Fairchild was relieved to find her 8-week-old son, Christian, unharmed in her mother’s home down the hill. But her elation has turned into despair as she gets ready to spend her first Mother’s Day in a shelter with more than 200 others displaced by last week’s devastating storms.

“I pictured Mother’s Day at home with his father, and happy and everything, and it’s far from happy. I’m in a shelter with my son,” she said.

Dedicated to my own mother who passed away JUST before this song came out in 1997. Even now as I listen I cry, though it is almost 14 years later:

You taught me everything
Everything you’ve given me
I’ll always keep it inside
You’re the driving force in my life, yeah

There isn’t anything
Or anyone that I could be
And it just wouldn’t feel right
If I didn’t have you by my side

You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were gray
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me

And no one else can be
What you have been to me you will always be
You will always be the girl
In my life for all times

Mama, Mama you know I love you
Mama, Mama you’re the queen of my heart
Your love is like tears from the stars
Mama I just want you to know lovin’ you is like food to my soul
Yes it is, yes it is, oh, yes it is, yes it is, yes it is oh

You’re always there for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong
Yes you did

When everyone was downin’ me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on

There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you come to me and say to me
I can face anything

And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You’ll always be, you will always be
The girl in my life, ooh oh

Never gonna go a day without you
Fills me up just thinkin’ about you
I’ll never go a day
Without my mama
