Homefront is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ. It is scheduled to be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows on March 15, 2011 in North America and Continental Europe, March 17, 2011 in Australia, March 18, 2011 in United Kingdom and April 29, 2011 in Japan. Its tagline is:
“Home is where the war is.”
Screenwriter John Milius, who penned the similarly themed film “Red Dawn” (as well as “Apocalypse Now,” “Clear and Present Danger” and “Conan the Barbarian”),There are a lot of military shooters out there, but none where the battlefield is in the good old USA until now!
Due out March 15 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, the game imagines a fallen America in 2027. Players, as you might expect, will join the resistance and fight their way across the country to win back America’s freedom.
Playing on some of today’s biggest political fears, the game focuses on the military force that could come from a unified North and South Korea. Following the death of Kim Jong Il, the game supposes his son manages to bring the countries together, creating an unparalleled global force.
~ Sound familiar?–JP
Meanwhile, the economic crisis in the U.S. has gotten worse. The dollar has collapsed, gas prices are near $20 a gallon and the nation is unable to help defend its allies as the Korean army advances. After crippling the U.S. with an electromagnetic pulse, the Unified Korean Army begins to occupy the country, turning high school stadiums into detention centers and shopping malls into parking lots for armored attack vehicles.
Given that this is the first title in what THQ hopes will be a strong franchise (they’re already planning a sequel), no one’s expecting it to pull in sales numbers like Halo or Call of Duty. Still, Wall St. analysts say it seems to have the pieces in place to potentially become a major new player.
NOTE: A publicity stunt that resulted in 10,000 red balloons landing in the San Francisco Bay backfired, angering environmentalists.
~ I know one thing, the opening scene of the russians parachuting in the beginning of the original Red Dawn is vivid in my mind. And today here we are ~JP
For anyone who knew Red Dawn was not truly a fiction movie , the fact Russia was involved and in the remake it is China who takes over our country. A stretch? I want to remind you what patriotic teenagers did:
They fled into the mountains. Armed only with hunting rifles, pistols & bows and arrows, the teens struggles to survive the bitter winter & Soviet KGB patrols hunting for them. Eventually trouble arises when they kill a group of Soviet soldiers on patrol in the highlands. Soon, they will wage their own guerrilla warfare against the invading Soviet troops….under the banner of ‘Woverines’!
We need to be mindful of what the young people taught us in that movie.
This movie scared me more than any horror movie in my time. The Truth of it is terrifying! ~JP

Quake moved Japan coast 8 feet, shifted Earth’s axis
The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.
“At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass,” said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
