Why Did They Ask For It On Jumbotron?

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that they were surprised by the applause at the memorial pep rally on Wednesday for the victims of the Tucson shootings.

I will say that I read the speech several times and thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of applause if any. I think many of us thought that. But I think there was a celebration, again, of the lives of those who had been impacted. Not just at that grocery store but throughout the country. And I think that, if that is part of the healing process, then that’s a good thing.

Oh really?

Then why was it printed on the Jumbotron?

NEED to read:

White House: we were shocked that Tucson memorial crowd hooted and hollered throughout because our APPLAUSE signs were actually quite discrete

  1. Maybe it’s because English is my native language, but “applause” is a noun. “Applaud” would be a command.

Also, when the closed captions say [music], all the deaf people hum tunelessly.

  2. Awful sad that you feel the need to delete comments pointing out that you’re objectively wrong, and that this was standard closed-captioning.

    • I only remove comments that are in an attack mode. Too many sites allow twits. Criticism should be backed with fact. I delete these types of comments from ‘both’ sides not JUST liberal

Try & remember this is my house and I will not allow remarks that are baiting, as it states in my about. Before you post anywhere it is a good idea to read the website’s policy so your remarks are more thoughtful

      For example on your site:

Looks like the latest right-wing shooter was a genuine mentally-ill whackjob instead of a mere political extremist. That’s oddly comforting.

This person did not check their facts or they would know this is precisely what is wrong with extreme comments.

Play nice. Be intelligent. It will stay posted. TY! JP
