In a report sure to cause consternation at the White House and in the offices of the Democratic Leadership in Congress, “60 Minutes” provided an in-depth report on the realities of the unemployment situation in America today.

When you take into account the underemployed as well as the unemployed, the national rate hits 17% and California a staggering 22%.

To put a face on the realities of the underemployed in America under Obamanomincs, reporter Scott Pelley spoke with a fiber-optics engineering manager who has been looking for work for over a year. He just took a job working at a Target. 20% of the unemployed in America have college degrees.

According to the report, 1/3 of the unemployed have been out of work for over a year. This hasn’t happened since the Great Depression.

Airing one week before the mid-term elections, this report explains better than anything, exactly what is at stake for our country on November 2.

Tiffany Hartley, the wife of David Hartley who was allegedly shot and killed by Mexican pirates on a border lake with Texas, is telling President Obama that it’s time to take on drug cartels.

“He should wake up and look what’s going on in our backyards,” she told the Denver Post.

Hartley says her husband’s death should be a focal point as to why the U.S. should take on these drug cartels.

“David is not the only American who has been killed, but this situation may be a turning point,” she told the paper.

Hartley returned to Colorado on Saturday to be with her family from McAllen, Texas, where the couple had been living.

“The hardest part of it all was leaving without him,” she told Colorado Fox affiliate KDVR.com.

She says she wants to continue raising awareness about the ongoing border violence crisis.

“I am ready for the challenge. I don’t want his death to have been in vain,” she told the Denver Post.

Hartley told authorities the couple were sightseeing when her husband was shot Sept. 30 by gunmen who ambushed them on the Mexico side of Falcon Lake, where pirates have robbed several Americans this year.

Authorities have not found David Hartley’s body.

From SITE Institute:

A one and a half minute portion of an Anwar al-Awlaki lecture that was advertised as forthcoming was posted by a member of a jihadist forum. In the lecture, titled, “And to Make it Known and Clear to Mankind,” Awlaki speaks in Arabic from behind at a desk with a sheathed dagger in his belt.

Yemeni security forces launched a manhunt for Al Qaeda operatives in its southern Shabwa province, the same day a U.S.-born Muslim cleric believed to be hiding in the area appeared in a video posted online, Reuters reports.

Yemeni officials told the news agency that security forces and local tribes began scouring the mountainous Said district in Shabwa early Saturday for suspected militants of the terrorist group.

SITE Institute, a U.S.-based terrorism watchdog group, on Saturday released a video tape showing U.S.-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki giving a religious lecture in Arabic.

The video of Awlaki was reportedly under two minutes and had been posted on an Islamist website used by operatives. Reuters reports that the date the video was filmed is unclear.

He reportedly praised the Fort Hood shooter and the Christmas Day bomber in the video.

A Yemeni official also told Reuters members of Awlaki’s own tribe were assisting in the search.

The official said the Shabwa governor and the Awlaki clan have forged a deal to “expel Al Qaeda elements from their territories and mount a joint operation with the army (to do so).”

Yemen’s foreign minister estimates there are some 400 Al Qaeda fighters active in the country.

Abu Bakr al-Qirbi says the militants “seek to cause chaos and destruction.” He told the al-Hayat daily on Sunday that Saudi nationals are among the active fighters.

Al Qaeda’s Yemeni and Saudi offshoots joined forces last year to form Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which is based in Yemen.

Since then, the terror group has stepped up attacks in the capital, San’a, and in the largely lawless countryside.

Meanwhile, a security official said 19 Al Qaeda suspects have been released after months in detention because of a lack of evidence. He said three of them originally were picked up in Iraq.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to the media.

From SITE : Al-Qaeda’s American spokesman Adam Gadahn (AKA Azzam the American) urged Muslims to take initiative and carry out acts of individual jihad in states of the “Zio-Crusader coalition” in a video released on jihadist forums on October 23, 2010. Gadahn appeared in the video and spoke entirely in Arabic. The 48 minute, 20 second video is produced by al-Qaeda’s media arm, as-Sahab, and is titled, “The Arabs and Muslims: Between the Conferences of Desertion… and the Individual Duty of Jihad.” English subtitles were provided. In addition to Gadahn’s appearance, as-Sahab placed a clip from al-Malahem Media’s interview with radical Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki

Al Qaeda’s American mouthpiece Saturday urged wannabe terrorists in a new video to act alone instead of trying to join cells attempting 9/11-type spectacular strikes.

Californian Adam Gadahn urged individual violent jihad in a 40-minute tape, which endorsed an Al Qaeda ally’s call last week for sympathizers to mimic the Ft. Hood killings and attempted bombings over Detroit last Christmas and in Times Square in May.

“My brothers: know that Jihad is your duty,” Gadahn ranted in Arabic. “You have an opportunity to strike the leaders of unbelief and retaliate against them on their own soil.”

The Cincinnati Public Schools system “expressly denies” that it did anything wrong when it allowed a group of high school students to be bused during school hours to the Board of Elections, to be shown sample ballots that included only Democrats, and then to vote.

And it promises never to do it again.

Thomas Brinkman, a Republican candidate for county auditor, and a group called the Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending & Taxes filed a legal complaint after three van loads of students from Hughes High School were bused on Oct. 13 to the Hamilton County Board of Elections. The students, all registered voters, were given sample ballots that listed only Democratic candidates — “clearly with the intention of instructing [them] how to vote,” according to the complaint — before they cast their ballots.

Then the kids were then taken for free ice cream, a move Brinkman and the coalition said was tantamount to “bribery.”

Brinkman’s attorney, Chris Finney, said a teacher at the high school coordinated with Gwen Robinson, a former principal within the district, to allow a local church to provide three vans to transport the students to a local polling location.

“We wanted to stop this activity, to stop the buses from rolling and the one-sided nature of the contact,” Finney told FoxNews.com. “We want academic freedom.”

On Wednesday, attorneys for the school district and Brinkman filed an agreed order that calls for the district to “not use any personnel or property” for advocating any particular political candidate or party.

We want these kids exposed to the full range of ideas, and this order from the judge requires that,” Finney said.

He isn’t convinced, however, that the busing is limited to Cincinnati.

“We suspect this activity is going on throughout the state of Ohio,” said Finney, who was unable to provide additional details. “And it just needs to stop.”

The agreement, which was signed by Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Beth Myers, states that “All future efforts to transport students of the Cincinnati Public Schools to a polling place so that those students may vote as part of an educational activity shall comply with all policies of the Cincinnati Public Schools and Ohio law concerning field trips for students.”

But school officials “expressly” denied any wrongdoing, and Finney said a lawsuit against the school system will continue despite Wednesday’s order. It seeks to have the incident declared a violation of Ohio law and district policy and to have a permanent injunction issued to never allow students to be subjected to partisan political activities during school hours. It also seeks to have Cincinnati Public Schools pay Finney’s attorney fees, or at least $10,000. The case is scheduled to continue on Nov. 30.

“We’re going to use this lawsuit to expose the depth of collusion between the Cincinnati Public Schools and the Democratic Party, who, in a one-sided way, seeks to indoctrinate the children for their electoral purposes,” said Finney, who alleges that some school system employees are explicitly tasked to “turn out the vote” for Democratic candidates during election season.

“We intend to put a stop to that once and for all,” he said.

Mark Stepaniak, an attorney for Cincinnati Public Schools, acknowledged that the district transported about a “score” of students to the polling place, an arrangement put in place by Robinson and a teacher he declined to identify.

In previous years, Stepaniak said, students were transported using donated bus tokens from a local YMCA. But due to budget shortfalls, the YMCA was unable to provide the tokens this year, prompting Robinson to arrange to have buses from a local church transport the students. He acknowledged that the students were given sample ballots by Robinson as they exited the buses.

“In isolation, it’s like, ‘How’d that happen?’ But the district is not interested in partisan politics,” he said. “That’s not what they’re supposed to do and that’s not what they did.”

Stepaniak said the activity was not occurring at other schools in the district.

“No one from the district distributed campaign material, or knew that campaign material would be distributed or sought to advance a political candidate,” he said. “It happened the way it happened. We’re now on alert to make sure that everything’s tightened down.”

Stepaniak continued, “I wouldn’t say it’s much ado about nothing, but it’s definitely a one-off event and not emblematic of Cincinnati Public Schools to advance a particular party or candidate.

“You can see where the worry was, but this wasn’t some massive plan by the district.”

truth

In a country, headed toward socialism, where the elitist few ran the government and did not govern for the people, but against them…

In a climate of arrogant words, never before seen flippant attitudes, photo ops, fake news stories, and continued out of control rhetoric…

In a time of rising debt, broken promises, increased taxes, out of control government spending, corporate takeovers and corrupt special interests …

In a world where evil nations are developing nuclear weapons and where Obama pairs down the United State’s arsenal leaving us more and more defenseless….

Now, more than ever, America needs a hero- one who has the power to change the political landscape. That hero, that voice… is You.

You were bullied
pushed
disgraced
dishonored
and made fun of.

While they golfed
vacationed lavishly
flew a dog on a separate jet
You suffered.

While they were being idolized
you were put out of work.
While they apologized for America’s success
tax burdens increased for small businesses.
They wasted billions!
Europe told them no at the G20
Republicans tried to tell them no but were outnumbered.
Enough

Enough!

Now it’s your turn.
On November 2nd
be a hero.
Vote to reclaim our country.

President Obama’s aides have booked the entire Taj Mahal hotel ahead of the president’s high-profile visit to the Indian city rocked by a terrorist attack two years ago, The Economic Times reports.

The newspaper reported that the Obama administration has reserved all 570 rooms, as well as the hotel’s restaurants,
to ensure airtight security when the president and first lady Michelle Obama visit Mumbai early next month. Dozens of other rooms have been booked elsewhere in the city.

The Times reported that downtown Mumbai will be under heavy security while the president is in town — the first leg of a broader Asian trip. In addition, U.S. naval and Indian ships reportedly will patrol the waterfront outside the hotel to guard against any attacks.

The Taj Mahal hotel was the scene of a three-day battle between Indian commandos and terrorists who stormed the luxurious Mumbai landmark as part of their deadly rampage through the city in November 2008. The restored hotel reopened in August.

angry man

PORTLAND, Maine — Like his neighbors, Claude Rwaganje pays taxes on his income and taxes on his cars. His children have gone to Portland’s public schools. He’s interested in the workings of Maine’s largest city, which he has called home for 13 years.

There’s one vital difference, though: Rwaganje isn’t a U.S. citizen and isn’t allowed to vote on those taxes or on school issues. That may soon change.

Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it.

Noncitizens hold down jobs, pay taxes, own businesses
, volunteer in the community and serve in the military, and it’s only fair they be allowed to vote, Rwaganje said.

“We have immigrants who are playing key roles in different issues of this country, but they don’t get the right to vote,” said Rwaganje, 40, who moved to the U.S. because of political strife in his native Congo and runs a nonprofit that offers financial advice to immigrants.

Opponents of the measure say immigrants already have an avenue to cast ballots — by becoming citizens. Allowing noncitizens to vote dilutes the meaning of citizenship, they say, adding that it could lead to fraud and unfairly sway elections.

“My primary objection is I don’t think it is right, I don’t think it is just, I don’t think it is fair,” Portland resident Barbara Campbell Harvey said.

In San Francisco, a ballot question Nov. 2 will ask voters whether they want to allow noncitizens to vote in school board elections if they are the parents, legal guardians or caregivers of children in the school system.

Noncitizens are allowed to vote in school board elections in Chicago and in municipal elections in half a dozen towns in Maryland, said Ron Hayduk, a professor at the City University of New York and author of “Democracy for All: Restoring Immigrant Voting Rights in the United States.”

New York City allowed noncitizens to vote in community school board elections until 2003, when the school board system was reorganized, and several municipalities in Massachusetts have approved allowing it but don’t yet have the required approval from the Legislature, he said.

The Maine ballot questions asks whether legal immigrants who are city residents but not U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote in municipal elections. If the measure passes, noncitizens would be able to cast ballots in school board, city council and school budget elections, as well as other local issues, but not on federal or statewide matters.

The Maine League of Young Voters, which spearheaded the drive to force the question on the ballot, estimates there are 5,000 to 7,500 immigrants in Portland, roughly half of whom are not U.S. citizens. They come from more than 100 countries, with the two largest groups from Somalia and Latin America.

On a recent day in a small lunchroom at the Al-Amin Halal Market, a group of Somali men ate lunch and talked in their native language. A sign advertised the day’s offerings, including hilib ari (goat), bariis (rice) and baasto (spaghetti).

Abdirizak Daud, 40, moved to Minneapolis 18 years ago before coming to Portland in 2006. He hasn’t been able to find a job. Some of his nine children have attended Portland schools, and he’d like to have a say in who’s looking over the school system and the city, he said.

But between his limited English and the financial demands, Daud hasn’t been able to become a citizen.

~Here’s the kicker:

“I like the Democrats. I want to vote for Democrats, but I don’t have citizenship,” he said.

To become a citizen, immigrants must be a lawful permanent resident for at least five years, { pass tests on English and U.S. history and government, and swear allegiance to the United States. }

~Let me freakin get this straight?! They will GIVE them the RIGHT to vote, despite they are lazy & refuse to share allegiance to the country GIVING them our VOTE?! ~JP

Supporters of Portland’s ballot measure say the process is cumbersome, time-consuming and costly. The filing fee and fingerprinting costs alone are $675, and many immigrants spend hundreds of dollars more on English and civics classes and for a lawyer to help them through the process.

Allowing noncitizens to vote fits with basic democratic principles, Hayduk said.

O M G ! What the HELL?!

Historically, 40 states allowed noncitizens to vote going back to 1776, but an anti-immigrant backlash in the late 1800s and early 1900s resulted in laws that eliminated their voting rights by 1926, Hayduk said.

“We look back in history and we say that was a bad thing that we didn’t allow African-Americans to vote, or we didn’t allow half the population, women, to vote, or we didn’t allow younger people to vote,” he said. “We’ve modified our election laws to become more inclusive to incorporate more members of society.”

The Federation for American Immigration Reform, a Washington, D.C., group that advocates tougher immigration enforcement, says voting is a privilege and should be limited to citizens.

“People who are legal immigrants to the United States after a five-year waiting period can become citizens and become enfranchised,” spokesman Ira Mehlman said. “But until then, being here as a legal immigrant is a conditional agreement, sort of like a trial period. You have to demonstrate you are the type of person we would want to have as a citizen, then you can become a citizen and vote.”
