Police were investigating the contents of a computer memory stick said to contain sensitive anti-terror material which was reportedly found in the street outside a police station.

The four-inch USB storage device was alleged to have contained more than 2,000 pages of confidential information, including strategies on combating terror attacks.

The memory stick was found by a 36-year-old businessman on a pavement outside the station in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, said the Daily Star on Sunday.

It reported the device was emblazoned with the initials GMP POTU, standing for Greater Manchester Police Public Order Training Unit, and the files enclosed were produced by the National Police Improvement Agency on the subject of counter-terrorism and tactical deployment.

Names of officers, their ranks and divisions were also uncovered by the businessman when he fitted the stick into his laptop, the newspaper added.

Superintendent Bryan Lawton, of GMP’s Specialist Operations Branch, said: “We are aware of an article relating to the finding of a memory stick belonging to GMP by a member of the public.

“We are currently looking into who this device belongs to, what information is contained on it and the circumstances surrounding its loss. As such it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

Say what you want about Glenn Beck, a polarizing figure on the American landscape, but don’t argue that last weekend’s rally, his spiritual lollapalooza, lacked miracles. No, angels didn’t descend from the clouds (though, if you saw the geese fly-over…) and no, it can’t be said, because it can’t be quantified, that honor was “restored.” But it is a miracle when a paunchy Mormon activist draws several hundred-thousand to the Mall in August heat.

I didn’t attend the rally in person, but did watch, and what I saw was an outpouring of spirituality which is compelling the Left to stock-up on Pepto Bismol. The A.P. painted the crowd as “predominantly white,” of course, pointing out that among the assembled, there were Obama-Hitler tees (two), but let’s not pretend that the A.P. is credible. The media is a gasping dinosaur that won’t change its diet and, as a result, is, well, gasping. Remember, there were two rallies this day, the one by Glenn which drew 400,000 (sorry CBS, 87,000 were in line for the porta-potties) and the Sharpton rally, which drew a picnic; but the New York Times objectively informed its reader that: Two political foes are gathering hundreds of thousands of their supporters on the Mall today…

That’s right. The ratio was 100:1 – at least – but the Times didn’t care. As if Sharpton’s race-baiting circus required porta-porties, they made him relevant. Almost. Perhaps the Times should hire the former editor of Air America Radio, Beau Friedlander, who offered 25-cents per/attendee ($100,000) to anyone having a sex-tape of Glenn. Air America is dead air these days (out-of-business) for following the same business model, and Friedlander likely knows a bankruptcy attorney.

By noon – 9:00 am, my time—two things were evident: 1) that there are more generous, caring, patriotic conservatives who love the Most Exceptional Country on Earth than there are loathsome leftists; and 2) that the latter were melting down. On Facebook, as the rally commenced, those watching could comment, and among the 130,000 viewers, a throng of trolls projected bile. Beck is racist, Beck should be shot, F*ck Beck…Sarah Palin, who spoke eloquently, was pilloried in the thread (public rape-fantasies courtesy of progressives) and Jesus, harangued by cowards, fared worse.

A collection of malicious tweets in response to Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally

How did we respond? With grace, calm and prayer. Refusing to be drawn into the Left’s bailiwick (hate), Beck-ites, miraculously, adhered to his themes: honor, virtue, patriotism and God. Something about watching and participating in these acts did, indeed, Restore Honor. As the leftist media and race-hustlers unraveled (NBC’s Brian Williams, interviewing the president, framed the rally as “at times anti-government, anti-Obama,” making it clear that he reads the “Gray Lady”) patriots rose above guttersnipe barbs. This didn’t mean we were silent, that we didn’t feel anger, but it did mean that we grasp the Left’s goal – pillory and polarize – and find it ludicrous.

President Obama blasts lies, disinformation

When I say “we,” I refer to Americans whose faith in God is indelible and who recognize corruption. Certainly, if by some untoward miracle, Al Sharpton had held an equal event and invited people on-line, we wouldn’t have seen what we did. This may point to the nature of Truth. Because the Left has nothing, because every progressive policy ever implemented has failed, and because they’re incapable of admitting this, they revert to name-calling. The difference between the Right and the Left is that the latter will never restore honor, because it’s impossible to restore what doesn’t exist.

This, of course, Alveda King knows. It’s self-evident that no racist (sorry, Howard Dean, you self-project) hate-monger (again, Howard) would feature black conservatives; but, again, the Left’s throttling of reality never ends. At one point, as Alveda addressed the audience, I spied the comment thread and wondered whether they fidget and are discomfit around mirrors. She spoke of family, of America’s Christian roots; yet in cyber-space, where the Left trolls, she was slandered. “How much is Beck paying her?” “Her uncle (Martin) is rolling over in his grave.”

Really? One wonders on this day, who was judging people, not by the color of their skin but the content of their character, the Left or the Right, the reverend or the rabble-rouser? People in the audience – white, black, red and yellow – linked arms. An amalgamation of preachers took the stage. And later, after a revival-style sing-a-long brought me to tears, after “Amazing Grace” was offered on the bag-pipes, and Beck thanked the crowd, I experienced what the Left will never experience: love of Country.

For about fifteen seconds, I felt sorry for them.

new-world-order

The Chamber of Commerce of the United States did become the recognized representative of commerce and industry. Harry A. Wheeler of Chicago was elected the first President.

Who is in charge of efforts to bring about a “New World Order?” It is not George Soros! No matter how much money and influence George has, he never could be the chief organizer. He is part of it, but much more is needed than a single individual with a plan and unlimited resources.

What is needed is an organization that reaches into every country, has the sanction and cooperation of governments, has unlimited national and international contacts, and the respect and support of millions of ordinary citizens who do not really understand what they are doing or where the organization is leading them. I submit that the chief organizing body for the New World Order is the Chamber of Commerce.

There are millions of Chamber of Commerce members in communities all over the world. They promote their own communities, welcome visitors, help promote local businesses, and sometimes perform community services. They also try to influence legislation.

In the United States the many Chambers of Commerce were mostly separate organizations until 1912. Change began in December 1911 when President Taft suggested to Congress that an association of Chambers of Commerce would be of great value in supporting American interests. [1]

Then in January 1912 Senator Knute Nelson of Minnesota spoke in the Senate saying:

“I received this morning a telegram from a Chamber of Commerce in my state urging me to vote against the bill now before us. This afternoon I received a telegram from another business organization asking me to vote for it. What does business really think?”

On March 1, 1912 President Taft issued a call for a conference of commercial and trade organizations and directed Charles Nagel, Secretary of Commerce and Labor to make arrangements. The conference was held April 22, 1912. Seven hundred representatives of 392 commercial and industrial organizations attended.

At the conference Secretary Nagel said:

“It has been suggested not only that you organize so as to have a common commercial opinion to submit to the Government, but that you get the sign of authority in the shape of a national charter which will enable every officer of the Government to say –’This is the recognized representative of the commerce and industry of the United States’.”

On June 4, 1912 a bill giving the Chamber of Commerce of the United States a federal charter was reported by the Judiciary Committee of the House with the recommendation that the bill be passed.

President Obama’s biggest problem as Commander in Chief is that he is not a leader. He is detached from the troops who fight our wars and they will never feel about him the way they did about George W. Bush. He is uninspiring and it is obvious that he considers the fight against Islamic extremists to be a distraction from his true mission, fundamentally transforming and rescuing America from its failed past. There was not a single moment in his speech where he spoke to the troops about their mission. He spoke about them in reverent tones, but he never articulated what we were fighting and why it really mattered. There is a reason for that, he has absolutely no rapport with them, he doesn’t understand them, and he has absolutely no clue how to lead them. Hell he really wishes he didn’t have to. Obama is a politician and that is where he feels comfortable. he even felt obligated to remind us that “ending” the Iraq War was a campaign promise of his.

So tonight, I am announcing that the American combat mission in Iraq has ended. Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country.

This was my pledge to the American people as a candidate for this office.

Well thank you candidate Obama, you will soon be back in your comfort zone running for re-election. Too bad you couldn’t find some time to actually command the troops in the interim.

He also managed to bring up the monetary cost of the war as one of its downsides.

We have sent our young men and women to make enormous sacrifices in Iraq, and spent vast resources abroad at a time of tight budgets at home…..We have spent over a trillion dollars at war, often financed by borrowing from overseas.

A guy who pissed away more than a trillion dollars paying off his political allies ought to watch what he says. If we are willing to go to war then we shouldn’t whine about the money it costs. Hear John F. Kennedy speak.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty….

To those peoples in the huts and villages across the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required—not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.

Let’s contrast Obama’s bloodless lecture to President Bush’s clarion call for victory when he announced the surge Obama couldn’t bring himself to mention.

The challenge playing out across the broader Middle East is more than a military conflict. It is the decisive ideological struggle of our time. On one side are those who believe in freedom and moderation. On the other side are extremists who kill the innocent, and have declared their intention to destroy our way of life. In the long run, the most realistic way to protect the American people is to provide a hopeful alternative to the hateful ideology of the enemy, by advancing liberty across a troubled region. It is in the interests of the United States to stand with the brave men and women who are risking their lives to claim their freedom, and to help them as they work to raise up just and hopeful societies across the Middle East…

The changes I have outlined tonight are aimed at ensuring the survival of a young democracy that is fighting for its life in a part of the world of enormous importance to American security. Let me be clear: The terrorists and insurgents in Iraq are without conscience, and they will make the year ahead bloody and violent. Even if our new strategy works exactly as planned, deadly acts of violence will continue — and we must expect more Iraqi and American casualties. The question is whether our new strategy will bring us closer to success. I believe that it will.

Now Obama can’t really help the fact that he is not a leader, the world needs professors too. But that means he ought to at least learn from history. He may have sent troops to Afghanistan, and duplicated the leadership team of Gen. Petraeus and Sec. of Defense Gates. But he failed to learn from his predecessor how to lead in wartime. When Bush went to war, he went to win and the troops knew it. When Obama announced more troops for Afghanistan he also announced the date of our withdrawal and he doubled down on that gutless, feckless and failure of a policy again.

And, next July, we will begin a transition to Afghan responsibility. The pace of our troop reductions will be determined by conditions on the ground, and our support for Afghanistan will endure. But make no mistake: this transition will begin – because open-ended war serves neither our interests nor the Afghan people’s.

Announcing a withdrawal does serve the interests of our enemies. That was Obama’s policy for Iraq and now Afghanistan. If we had listened to his naive counsel we would have lost in Iraq and he would not have been taking a victory war-ending lap he had nothing to do with. Let’s hope our troops can over come the politically-driven handicap he has given them in Afghanistan. Get back to bankrupting our economy Mr. President, our military will carry on without the leadership you cannot bring.

Buoyed by Joe Miller’s surprise win in Alaska’s Senate GOP primary, the Tea Party Express is hoping to take down another heavily favored Republican incumbent, this time in Delaware. The group plans to spend $250,000 on radio and TV ads to boost Christine O’Donnell, a largely unknown conservative activist who is vying against longtime GOP Rep. Mike Castle in the state’s GOP Senate primary set for Sept. 14.

Castle, a moderate (~NO such thing for Libs) nine-term congressman (~ OMG they need Term limits baaad!) and former governor, has been heavily favored to win Joe Biden’s old Senate seat this fall. Recent polls had him leading Democrat Chris Coons by double digits. But O’Donnell, a former GOP operative, has attacked Castle as a “Republican in name only” — trashing his support for stem-cell research and tougher gun laws.

Ads in the works by the Tea Party Express reportedly echo those themes. In one of them, a narrator attacks Castle for voting “with Barack Obama 60 percent of the time” — even though Castle opposed most of the big-ticket agenda items that Republican activists have forcefully denounced, including the health-care bill and last year’s stimulus package.

Still, in spite of the group’s last-minute spending pledge, it’s unclear that O’Donnell can make up enough ground to beat Castle. The GOP primary is closed — meaning independents can’t vote — and new party registration ended weeks ago.

But Castle is taking no chances. On Thursday, his campaign began running ads and set up a website raising questions about O’Donnell’s shaky finances. As the Delaware News Journal’s Ginger Gibson has reported, O’Donnell owns more than $10,000 in federal taxes and has recently been using campaign funds to pay rent on her apartment. Asked about the debts, a Tea Party Express spokesman told the Hotline’s Jeremy Jacobs the group was unaware of O’Donnell’s financial problems before endorsing her in
July.

State Republicans have taken aim at O’Donnell, too. “She’s not a viable candidate for any office in the state of Delaware,” state GOP chair Tom Ross told the AP’s Phil Elliott. “She could not be elected dog catcher.”

On Thursday, the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein uncovered another unflattering story about O’Donnell: a clip from an appearance she made on one of a series of MTV specials called “Sex in the ’90s.” O’Donnell, who was then working on behalf of a group that promoted abstinence, went on the show to talk up the cause, but took it one step further, suggesting that masturbation is wrong, too.

“The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust,” she said. “The reason that you don’t tell [people] that masturbation is the answer to AIDS and all these other problems that come with sex outside of marriage is because again it is not addressing the issue. … You’re just gonna create somebody who is, I was gonna say, toying with his sexuality. Pardon the pun.”

In the latest of many corruption scandals to rock the Congressional Black Caucus, a veteran Texas lawmaker has illegally awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to relatives and the children of a top aide even though anti-nepotism rules expressly forbid it.

Reported over the weekend by a Dallas newspaper, it marks the sixth time in the last few years that a member of the influential House committee is embroiled in wrongdoing. Most recently two prominent members—New York’s Charles Rangel and California’s Maxine Waters— have hogged up the spotlight for their widely reported transgressions, which have resulted in a multitude of ethics charges by House investigators; Rangel for failing to pay taxes and hiding income and assets and Waters for unscrupulously steering federal bailout funds to her husband’s failing bank.

In a federal trial last month, Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. was exposed for his involvement in the biggest political scandal of modern time, a plot to buy President Obama’s old U.S. Senate seat. Jackson and his top fundraiser offered to pay ousted Governor Rod Blagojevich, a convicted felon, $1 million for the appointment, according to court testimony in Blagojevich’s corruption trial.

A few years ago California Congresswoman Laura Richardson got busted for funding her political campaigns with hundreds of thousands of dollars borrowed against three separate homes whose loans she later defaulted on. Before that Florida’s Kendrick Meek, the state’s Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate this fall, steered millions of tax dollars to a shady developer that employed his mother as a “consultant.”

Now the baton has been handed off to Eddie Johnson, a nine-term Democrat from Dallas who gave her grandson and great nephews, as well as the children of her top aide, more than a dozen scholarships intended for needy students in her congressional district. None of the recipients even live in the area Johnson represents in the House and all violate rules explicitly forbidding awards to relatives of the CBC foundation that distributes the money.

Initially Johnson, who has served as caucus chairwoman and on the board that oversees the scholarship foundation, denied wrongdoing but subsequently said she “unknowingly” violated the rules though she assures that she didn’t “personally benefit.” However, the foundation’s general counsel has determined that the scholarships violated eligibility rules regarding relatives and residency.
