The truth is that under Obamacare, government will be involved in end-of-life decisions

It occurs to me that someone else might be writing my column – more appropriately my obituary,- if Obamacare were in effect now instead of four years hence.

Last Wednesday night I had a heart attack. 911 responded promptly and summoned an ambulance to transport me to the hospital emergency room. I was quickly admitted, had a bunch of costly diagnostic tests and was assigned to a room.
I was given the best, up-to-date care available, including chelation therapy which does a roto-rooter procedure on the blocked artery, clearing it out and buttressing it with a stent to prevent it from closing down.
I was there for three days, carefully monitored, well-treated by the staff, and fed surprisingly good chow. Whatever was called for in my case was done, well and promptly and I shudder to think of what all this excellent care by skilled physicians and RNs providing the best care and medical procedures would cost me if it weren’t for my insurance coverage part of which included government funded Medicare.
And there’s the rub. The Obama acolytes vehemently deny that the health care reform bill Congress shoved down our throats included what Sarah Palin called “death panels” but she was right. Under the new law, hordes of bureaucrats will be monitoring patients and dictating the extent of care that will be provided. And that, in effect means deciding who lives and who doesn’t.
As Adam Walker Cleaveland put on his website Blatherings

“The truth is that under Obamacare, government will be involved in end-of-life decisions. Keep this in mind: the goal of government-run health care aka ‘obamacare’ is to provide insurance to everyone while simultaneously holding down medical costs – which is utterly laughable coming from this bloated administration! A huge program like obamacare like this doesn’t’ just happen on its own. Decisions on how it will run will have to be made. So who will be making those decisions about us and our healthcare? Well, the ones paying the bills of course — obama’s handpicked bureaucratic panel of appointees. Keep in mind, this is already happening in Oregon where I live, called The Oregon Health Plan. And the results? Controversial and frankly horrible.”

The Washington Post discusses an increasingly popular class taught by Earl Taylor of the National Center for Constitutional Studies. Regular folks want to learn about how the Founding Fathers intended our government to work, and, more importantly in the Age of Obama, how it is not supposed to work. Obviously the liberals in Washington have absolutely no use for the Constitution, which has an annoying habit of getting in their way of Socializing the nation. People are yearning to learn more about how to use the founding document of the Republic to stop them.

So the Post talks about Earl Taylor’s class. The article is quintessential piece of liberal bias masquerading as journalism. It is so slanted, it made me laugh in places. So to shed a little sunlight on the media, let’s make note of the author’s name, Krissah Thompson, who would make a great liberal blogger on HuffPo, but has absolutely no business holding herself out as an objective journalist.

Here is the news part of the story…

Idea of a Meeting Among Potential NBA Free Agents Shows Who’s Holding All the Cards

Dwyane Wade, left, said he planned to discuss plans with fellow potential free agent LeBron James ~AP

It sounded farfetched to begin with: the idea that, before signing deals on their own, a few free-agent basketball stars would scheme in secret at a grand summit meeting.

In fact, the NBA commissioner himself has thrown cold water on the idea, saying he has been assured it won’t happen—and suggesting that the players make better use of their time by watching the Finals between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, which are tied 1-1 heading into Tuesday’s Game 3.

But the factors that have led us to this point, some accidental and some intrinsic to the way the NBA works, says a lot about where the power lies in the league these days. And it’s not with the teams’ front offices.

“I think they have the right to talk, so it’s fine with me,” says Donnie Walsh, the president of the New York Knicks, a team that has boatloads of cash to spend on free agents this summer. “I don’t know if it’s being interpreted the right way. What they want to do is see if and where spots are going to open. They’re trying to make sure they’re not getting in each other’s ways.”

Hat Tip to Blackie SM for trying to get the Piper paid

SOMEONE PLEASE pay the Piper

Another campaign is on the way in Arizona to wake the country to the financial disaster and economic nightmare Obama is foisting on America’s future. A very large billboard ad created by an anonymous advertiser shows President Obama’s face overlaid on a mock U.S. $100,000,000,000,000 (100 TRILLION dollars) bill with the message “But Who Will Pay the Piper?”

The powerful advertisement easily makes the point. It is us, our children, and grand-children, the American people and taxpayers, who will have to make the enormous sacrifices to pay down this astronomical debt made that much worse by Obama and the Democrat Congress in the last year and a half.

The CNS article also points out more information regarding the ad:

Chuck Perrine of Jones Outdoor advertising in Tucson, Ariz., confirmed to CNSNews.com that his company created the 10 ft- by-40 ft. billboard, which he said “went up within the last month.”

Perrine said the sign is located “near Linden (Ariz.),” but said that the advertiser is “not interested” in disclosing any further information about his identity–or his reason for purchasing the ad. …

The billboard, which was rented for an undisclosed sum, will remain up for an undisclosed period of time, Perrine said

“I’m sorry, I can’t give you any information about the advertiser whatsoever,” Perrine told CNSNews.com Monday. “That’s part of his contract with us.”

The Office of Management and Budget in Obama’s White House estimates that the federal deficit this year will be 10.6 percent of GDP, making fiscal 2010 the first fiscal year since the end of World War II that the federal deficit has reached double digits as a share of GDP.

The billboard, which was rented for an undisclosed sum, will remain up for an undisclosed period of time, Perrine said.

Gold surges to all time record high as double-dip recession fears grow

A top investment banker has warned that the economic fallout of the sovereign debt crisis could get so nasty over the next five years that people would be wise to abandon the markets and instead buy land, barbed wire and guns.

With gold smashing through its all time record high this morning on the back of fears over a double dip recession, analysts are turning increasingly bearish on the markets. Anthony Fry, senior managing director at Evercore Partners, told CNBC that the bond markets could turn nasty over the next few months and said that the current problems created by the European debt crisis could be with us for at least five years.

“Look at the current situation. You have Greece, now you have Hungary and huge issues surrounding Spain and Portugal,” he said, warning of a “nightmare scenario” of hyper-stagflation, where inflation rises dramatically but asset prices deflate.

“I don’t want to scare anyone but I am considering investing in barbed wire and guns, things are not looking good and rates are heading higher,” said Fry.

RBS Chief Strategist Bob Janjuah echoed Fry’s sentiments

Austerity Fascism Is Coming And It Will Be Brutal

Welcome to the age of rage – riots and revolutions will be the reaction to the next stage of the new world orde

Top historians, social and financial analysts are warning that the draconian austerity measures currently being prepared by governments in the west will cause riots and even revolutions as people react with fury in response to their jobs, savings, basic public services, pensions and welfare money being seized by the financial terrorists who caused the economic collapse in the first place.

British historian Simon Schama is a creature of the establishment and he makes it clear whose side he is on at the end of his recent column for the Bilderberg-controlled Financial Times entitled, The World Teeters on the Brink of a New Age of Rage. However, the fact that he is an elitist at heart only makes Schama’s predications all the more alarming. This is someone on the inside who is painfully aware of the fact that the imminent attempt on behalf of the globalists to enforce so-called “austerity measures” on the people of the west, which in reality is a euphemistic term for the next leg of the new world order, is not just going to cause riots and mass social unrest, but it could even lead to revolution if the elite allow the situation to spiral out of their control.

Schama’s forecast that “we might be on the threshold of an age of rage” is not to be taken lightly. This isn’t coming from Alex Jones, Max Keiser or Gerald Celente, it’s coming directly from a man considered to be Britain’s pre-eminent contemporary historian.

James Risen, a Pulitizer Prize winning national correspondent for the New York Times, is being told to give up his sources for State of War, his 2006 book on the C.I.A, or go to jail.

Risen, who broke the story of George W. Bush’s domestic wiretapping of suspected terrorists, is now on the Department of Justices (DOJ) radar. Risen’s attorney, Joel Kurtzberg, said he would fight the subpoena, which was authorized by Attorney General Eric Holder.

As described in the video from Russia Today:

In the past few weeks the U.S. has witnessed an aggressive crack down on whistleblowers. For many the Obama administration’s tough investigative stance on unauthorized press leaks goes against the president’s own election promises to bring back openness and transparency. Moreover, some journalists now accuse the Obama government of actually attacking press freedom.
